Process of Soft Washing:
- Preparation: We begin by removing excess growth. This involves dry brushing and scraping off material using tools. Our trained roofers personally oversee this, ensuring gutters are protected and tarpaulins are laid to collect debris. Remaining moss fibres are treated with chemicals and naturally fall off.
- Treatment: Using our specialised softwash system, a fungicide wash is sprayed onto the surface. This system precisely mixes the concentrate to the required level, ensuring even application. While the active ingredient can sometimes discolour plant leaves, early rinsing usually mitigates this effect. Any affected grass recovers quickly.
- Render Cleaning: After application, green and red algae die within minutes. Any resultant milky sheen soon disperses with the wind. Some pigments, like those from the red algae Trentepohlia, might linger but are water-soluble and will wash away with rain. The treatment continues to react with wind and rain, so the full results might be visible in 3-6 months.
